Bridget (she/her) is a Licensed Specialist Clinical Social Worker, and the founder of Monarch Play Therapy. She is also a Registered Play Therapist Supervisor™. Bridget received her degree from the University of Kansas, and has been an adjunct instructor for the School of Social Welfare at KU since 2014. Additionally, she is an adjunct instructor at Washburn University for the School of Social Work. Bridget provides clinical supervision, training, and professional development to clinical social workers and community mental health centers.
Over the past 24 years, Bridget has worked in various public service contexts, including child welfare, community mental health, substance abuse, behavior consultation and early childhood mental health. She previously served as the Early Childhood Mental Health Consultant at Head Start of Lawrence. Play therapy is a passion for Bridget! She served on the board of directors of the Kansas Association for Play Therapy for several years.
She has been trained in various therapy modalities including Gender Affirming Therapy, EMDR, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Theraplay®, Sand Tray Therapy and Child-Centered Play Therapy. Bridget is passionate about LGBTQIA+ issues, social justice, attachment and recovering from trauma.
